Downhill skiing in Colorado
Skiing in Colorado has been rated some of the best in the country. Home to legendary skiing locations like Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge this most certainly our dream skiing (or snowboarding) getaway! Not a skier, but still wondering if heading here for a road trip would be worth it? Now worries, most resorts offer skiing or boarding lessons for all ages and skills, so you can hit the slopes confidently. If skiing is completely out of the question, we would be remiss not to mention the countless other cool activities like mountaintop snowcat rides, restaurants, and shops surrounding the mountains waiting for you to explore.
Ice Fishing on Lake Erie
You may not know it, but ice fishing for walleye and perch on Lake Erie is some of the best ice fishing in the country! Bundle up, grab your fishing rods, and get away from the hustle and bustle of your life on South Bass Island. Here, ice conditions permitting, you can spend your days on the lake, relaxing, and hopefully with a few fresh catches in your cooler to bring home for dinner.
Cross Country Skiing in Vermont
We already covered some of the best downhill skiing in the country, but we thought we’d also show some love for one of the best places to go cross country skiing, Vermont. There are tons of amazing beautiful cross country skiing trails across the whole state for you to choose from. These peaceful escapes in the woodlands of Vermont are a must-try.
For all of you in the West/Northwest, exploring Yellowstone National Park on the back of a snowmobile is about as epic as it gets. There are guided snowmobile tours of the park where you can experience the beauty of Yellowstone in winter and maybe even get lucky enough to see the bison, elk, and deer who call the park their home!
