Although we might take advantage of them, our windshield wipers are one of the most important safety features in your vehicle. There are primarily 3 different types of wiper blades for you to choose from, and similar to an oil change there are wipers that are better for performance and can provide the best visuals. Here is what you need to know to select the best windshield wipers for you!
Traditional/Standard Wipers: Standard wiper blades are the most commonly used wipers on cars. These are designed with a metal frame and a rubber squeegee and have about 4 pressure points where it presses against the windshield. These blades should be inspected and replaced once a year right before the rainy season.
Beam/Premium Wipers: A lot of newer vehicles are being outfitted with these wiper blades these days. They are designed to fit to the curve of your windshield and tend to be more aerodynamic because of their slimmer, single unit structure. They tend to have a longer life than traditional wiper blades as well.
Winter Wipers: You should consider winter blades if you live in a climate that has a lot of snow, ice, and wind. These blades have a protective covering to protect against freezing temperatures, are less likely to get snow and ice build up and less likely to freeze to your windshield. You only really need these blades for your winter season.
